Lake Norman Monster Sighting

I took the dog for my daily walk about 5 pm and we always go down to the dock and look at the lake. From afar, the dog and I noticed two trails-like a duck swimming-but there was little above water. The two were fairly far apart-but heading out towards the lake. You could see the water churning underneath, but only a little something above water. The second one turned towards the shore across from us and seemed to stop. It was not a snake-I believe it may be an alligator or two. It makes too long of a wake to be a turtle-and the head was not out of the water like a turtle. This is not the first time I have seen them here.
You sound credible so perhaps this IS an alligator or some other larger creature!
They named it Normie. I can’t believe you called the Loch Ness Monster’s cousin Normie.

It was probably a muskrat…
