Sighting:
Me and my dad and a friend were fishing off one of the coves down the hill from campsite twelve at LKN state park. It was probably about 7:00 in the morning. I heard a splash and just as i turned to see what it was, i saw a sturgeon-looking thing going back into the water.
Not being skeptical, actually extremely interested, and hoping for a real life Nessie her in good ole NC. Couldn’t this be a sturgeon? They get MASSIVE and do closely resemble that of a croc with the spines on their back and large bumpy scales.
What we saw definitely was NOT a sturgeon! We were camping, and decided to take a walk when we saw it! What an experience! I have no idea what it was but I will never forget it!
After reading these descriptions on this website, I am getting a bit frightened of going swimming at the park! I do know there are also monster catfish found in North Carolina rivers as I’ve seen photos of them. They are as big as a man….but maybe this was something different.
