After reading about the Lake Norman Monster in a new book, “Monsters of North Carolina”, I convinced my husband that we needed to head out to look for this amazing creature which the writer claims has been there longer than the lake. We brought our kayaks and camped for three days at the park. We never saw what we would say 100% certain was a monster, but we did see the shadow of something really big pass under our boat while paddling about 100 yards off the shore of the campground. We are stoked, and will return to see if we can catch a glimpse of the animal!
